Frankfurter Buchmesse

Autumn is the hot season in the book world. When the leaves on the trees start to shed, the pages of books burst with new life. The first time I went on a study trip to Frankfurt was in late winter 1988, with the German language group of the business school. The trip was led by our line manager Onerva Vartiainen - also an author. Over the years, of course, I have visited this city several times.
This year, I went on a study trip to Frankfurt on my own to the world's largest book fair. What a great experience! For the first two days, I was just inspired and enthralled. I listened to book presentations and discussion sessions. I nibbled on my own bookmark with strangers in the TV company's workshop. I chatted with various publishers. I soaked up the atmosphere like a mushroom needs water to grow.
Next time, I will come to this fair in the role of an author!
